Here's the suggestions for this error message, try in this order:

1. Restart the workstation and then reopen Essential Forms.

2. Pack/Reindex databases:

With everyone out of the Essential Forms program, right-click on the Essential Forms shortcut click "Properties" from the drop-down, in the "Shortcut" tab, put the cursor in the "Target" window outside of the last quote (if you have one) and put a (space) /b at the end of the "target". Click “Ok” and then “Apply.” For example (on mine) it looks like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\CEB\Essential Forms\EFWin32.exe" /b

Launch the program once in that mode (with the command line switch /b) and then close the program and right-click on the Essential Forms shortcut, click "Properties" from the drop-down, in the "Shortcut" tab, in the "Target" window delete the /b at the end of the "target". Click “Ok” and “Apply.”

If everybody's networked to the same database, only one user needs to successfully perform the pack and reindex in order to fix the problem.

3. Reboot the server, then try to open Essential Forms.

4. Any issues today with the network, say with other programs? See if other programs can access the network location. Maybe the network drive is disconnected. Try and reconnect the drive.

5. Try and copy the Essential Forms Data folder from the server locally to the Desktop.

Launch Essential Forms and click Configure>Data Directory and click “browse” to that local copy of the Essential Forms Data folder. And Click Ok and Use This Directory.

Reopen the program.

6. Restore the most recent backup of the entire Essential Forms Data folder.
