Common abbreviations used in family law case holdings

You will see the following abbreviations in our holdings in the Family Law Hub, Week in Brief Emails, and the Attorney's BriefCase® modules:

W – wife

H – husband

M – mother

F – father

C – child

GP – grandparent

P – plaintiff (civil) or prosecution (criminal)

D – defendant

c/s – child support

s/s – spousal support

c/p – community property

s/p – separate property
